**The Company**

The Port of Hastings Development Authority (the Port) is responsible for managing the landside port operations at the Port of Hastings, including the maintenance and development of the associated port infrastructure. They are committed to the Port being a safe and vibrant deep-water port and ensuring its sustainable long-term development, recognising the Port is located within an area of international ecological significance.

The Port of Hastings is the preferred port to be used to support offshore wind power generation projects having been identified in the state government’s Navigating our Port Futures - Victorian Commercial Ports Strategy. The government is providing early investment in the redevelopment of the Port to support the establishment of the offshore wind sector.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Stakeholder and Community Relations Manager, this position will work closely with the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal team and Port of Hasting’s management team to advise of stakeholder issues and recommend strategies and solutions.

In this role you will:

- Assist in day-to-day stakeholder engagement relating to all Port of Hasting stakeholders including Government bodies, regulators, local Councils/authorities, community groups and landowners etc as required.
- Provide communications and stakeholder engagement advice and expertise to the Project Delivery team, CEO, and the management team.
- Identify community and stakeholder issues and recommend strategies and solutions.
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and plans to ensure stakeholder expectations are clearly defined and met.
- Develop a variety of engagement and communication materials for various mediums and audiences.

**About You**

You thrive in an environment where your actions ensure that the company and the community remain in sync. With demonstrated experience working in stakeholder and community engagement processes associated with complex technical and regulatory issues, you will possess:

- Tertiary qualifications in either or; communications, public relations, public policy, journalism, social sciences, community development, urban planning.
- Experience in managing public consultation through the EES approvals process or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Experience in managing challenging community dynamics and conversations.
- Exceptional time management and planning skills.
- Appreciation of statutory planning and approvals process of major infrastructure projects.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement principles, such as the IAP2 framework, and delivering sophisticated and culturally aware stakeholder engagement.
- Strong relationship building/ management skills across a range of stakeholder types.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; and
- Experience in using Consultation Manager, Word Press, and other engagement tools is preferred.
