**THE ROLE**

Recognised as a firm with a strong focus on improved quality, consistency and commercial direction for 2023, the business is now seeking to add a seasoned buyer to the business.

They will enjoy championing and continually uniting relationships with vendors and customers alike to ensure quality standards and budgets are adhered to.

Reporting to the Inventory Purchasing Manager the role sees you multitasking, using your initiative and ensuring timelines are met while maintaining a calm disposition;
- Manage, monitor, and schedule open orders.
- Check and follow up on daily purchases.
- Source products locally and across Australia that are in line with the business’ customer profile.
- Manage gross profit, revenue, output, and inventory levels/regulations for your department.
- Establish, develop, and continue new and existing supplier relationships.
- Accelerate and expedite supply chain planning.
- Work closely with vendors regarding delays on parts and expected delivery timelines.
- Update, observe, and guide the supply team in regard to ongoing system maintenance.
- Expedite inventory from suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous production/customer commitment.
- Liaise with suppliers on a day-t
- day basis for any components required.
- Utilise expertise to save when purchasing, by negotiation or quantity being bought, based on requirements.
- Update and document Planning/Procurement Manager with regards to anomalies pertaining to goods availability/supplier issues.
- Ability to seek ways to continuously improve external and internal customer satisfaction with product or service quality and on‐time delivery.

**THE ESSENTIALS**
- An understanding of MRP, costings and delivery management.
- An ability to interpret Engineering drawings and technical data.
- A strong understanding of process improvement techniques and six sigma competencies.
- Experience in purchasing, supplier sourcing or supply chain environment.
- Ability to negotiate supply agreements/tenders.
