**About the Role**

The Compliance Manager role is within the leadership team of Dam Safety NSW, an agency within the Water Group of Department of Planning and Environment.

Dams Safety NSW is an independent regulator established under the Dams Safety Act 2015. In line with its legislative objectives, Dams Safety NSW seeks to ensure that any risks to people and to environmental and economic assets from dams are of a level that is acceptable to the community. As the Compliance Manager, you will oversee and lead a team of compliance officers responsible for providing compliance services. This team is tasked with assessing, auditing, and investigating dam owners’ management systems to ensure adherence to legal requirements.

**About You**

To be successful in the role, you will be a leader with experience in internal or external auditing (non-financial) including the ability to craft audit reports, briefs, and other relevant documents and experience in managing complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with a diverse range of stakeholders, within agreed timelines, given their varying expectations, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

**Essential Requirements**
- Willing and capable of pursuing Management Systems auditor training within three months of commencing the position.
- Bachelor’s degree level qualification
- Occasional travel within NSW, approximately averaging around 10 percent of working days
- NSW Driver’s License.
