**Salary range**: $135,080 to $146,334 per annum (includes loading and July CPI increase) + 12.5% superannuation.

**About the role**:
This role contributes to the success of the City by strategically reviewing, planning, implementing, managing and embedding the effective service delivery of integrated Work Health and Safety programs and developing a systemic approach to WHS culture and risk management across the organisation.

The role will have responsibility for critical policy and procedure formulation and the provision of authoritative and strategic advice and expertise in Work Health and Safety, workers compensation and injury management.

The role leads the WHS team as change agents for improved WHS outcomes for all employees and will drive the development of systems, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and analytical processes.

Reporting to the Manager People & Culture the Principal WHS will lead an effective team that develops safe work practices, facilitates continuous improvement and supports a safety first culture across the City of Hobart.

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Significant experience at a senior level in leading a Work Health and Safety function across a diverse workforce.
- Highly developed working knowledge of WHS environment, legislation, regulations, codes of practice, WHS systems and systemic safety management processes.
- Ability to drive a culture of achievement and foster a quality focus across the organisation.
