**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Working independently to manage the ongoing delivery of AI-driven research projects in education, healthcare, and government sectors.
- Source and analyse data and provide findings to assist in the achievement of research project outcomes.
- Foster awareness of industry partners and participate in opportunities for AI research partnerships.
- Support the completion of funded AI research projects, including data collection, analysis, interviewing, transcription, literature review, and related activities, ensuring accuracy and ethical research practices.
- Collaborate with national and international researchers on AI projects.
- Design and maintain databases to store information on research performance, perform data cleansing, manipulate data and provide reports assisting in analysing the data, including undertaking statistical analysis tasks.
- Monitors progress of research projects and coordinates information between departmental sections.
- Line managing research staff and other team members, as required.
- Performing any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- A doctoral qualification from an Australian university with a developing academic research and publication record.
- Current experience in research supervision.
- Demonstrated experience conducting research tasks -editing, literature reviews and transcription and preparing research reports
- Proficiency in statistical data analytics techniques and knowledge of statistical software are musts.
- Management experience in higher education demonstrated leadership capacity and the ability to work effectively to build team cohesion.
- Experience in managing large datasets.
- Experience in recommender systems.
- Knowledge of ethical guidelines and practices in research.

**Skills**
- The position requires high-level planning and analytical skills, strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary, including:

- Liaising at all levels using interpersonal communication, consultation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills and the ability to facilitate research and supervision training and industry engagement.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced research environment.
- Proficiency in using research software and tools for data analysis and visualization.

**Special requirements**
- This position requires the incumbent to travel domestically and/or internationally to undertake duties and/or attend conferences events and to represent Cogninet.
