**About the Role**

As our Payroll Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and compliant payroll operations. You will work closely with the People & Culture and Finance teams and will be comfortable working independently to manage the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process for our Australian team including preparation of relevant regular and adhoc reports.

**Your Focus**
- Manage the delivery of effective and efficient payroll operations for 200+ Australian employees and 1 employee in NZ, ensuring the appropriate payment, disbursement, checking and reconciliation procedures are in place and undertaken in a timely manner
- Manage and review the preparation, balancing and reconciliation of PAYG/PAYE tax. Manage monthly payroll tax across multiple states as well as workers compensation
- Prepare relevant fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports
- Prepare management reports when requested based upon information within the payroll system
- Resolves any payroll discrepancies
- Develop, review and improve payroll policies and procedures
- Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
- Monitor and implement up to date information on changes to payroll and tax legislation
- Support employees who have any questions relating to their pay or benefits as well as process new hires, employee changes and terminations in an effective and accurate manner

**About You**
- End to end payroll experience with a thorough understanding of payroll processes and compliance
- Familiarity with payroll software / HRIS (e.g. Keypay/Employment Hero/Xero) and MS Office (in particular Excel)
- Sound understanding of Australian employment legislative environment and employment law
- Solid financial acumen with knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing
- An excellent communicator, with the ability to forge strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- High level of attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and with discretion
