THE OPPORTUNITY

State Facilities Manager
Working within the Childcare sector and reporting to the National Facilities Manager, this role offers an opportunity for a skilled proactive professional to work within a team to provide outstanding customer experience to key stakeholders, while ensuring required presentations, performance measures, and KPIs are met.

As a member of a 4 person Facilities Team consisting of a National Facilities Manager and 3 State managers, you will be required to be active in meeting and developing all facets of facilities upkeep to meet the team’s needs within the organization, budgets, safety, and compliance needs. Facilities is a part of a larger Property team and at times will be involved in responding/assisting other requirements needed within this team as arises.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:
Ensure facilities meet “fit for purpose” levels in line with industry compliance and Health and Safety risk matrix for all occupants - staff and users through site inspection reporting

Ensure presentation of facilities/sites is of the highest standard through strong vendor management

Reactive and crisis management to ensure facility function, and stakeholder safety, with minimum disruption of business operation within industry and organization parameters

Manage online work order portal to ensure all information data is updated & maintained at 100%

Proactively managing subcontractors, including managing their insurance, reviewing, and assessing subcontractor suitability, and working with them to ensure they meet Guardian Childcare & Education’s contractor assessment criterion

Assist in the development of a proactive approach Maintenance plan to decrease reactive costs

Implementing and monitoring all required maintenance plans for routine works

Managing effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution with all relevant stakeholders - contractors, clients, and onsite Guardian staff

Provide cost-efficient professional direction regarding Facilities R&M to address multiple areas of repairs in line with Guardian Budgets understanding that “outside of the box” thinking is required

Guaranteeing 100% commitment to protecting sensitive information and ensuring all services adhere to security, compliance, legislative, and Working with Children (WWC) requirements.

**To be considered for this role you will have**:
A relevant tertiary qualification with a technical or trade-related background and relevant multi-site management experience

High emotional intelligence and ability to work in a high-volume environment

Experience in managing service contracts and multiple suppliers

Proven track record in exceptional customer service

Superior verbal and written communication and people management skills

Strong organizational/ administrative skills

Strong outlook and Microsoft 365 suite abilities

Ability to be an asset to a team and work collaboratively to achieve great outcomes

Must have a valid Working with Children Check (Employee Category - not a Volunteer Category)

Must have a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

Childcare industry experience (desirable)

Project management experience (desirable)

Training/presenting skills (desirable)
