There is an exciting opportunity to join Forensic Intervention Services a Clinical Lead on a fixed-term basis until January 2024.

About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety and is responsible for the operation of Victoria's adult corrections system, public and privately operated prisons, and a transitional centre. It ensures that people held in prison are safely and securely contained and aims to rehabilitate people by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
As a division of Corrections Victoria, Forensic Intervention Services is a specialist program area that provides service users in custody and in the community with evidence-based screening, assessment, and offence-specific intervention services to support their rehabilitation. In doing so, Forensic Intervention Services is a critical component of the department's strategy to reduce reoffending and contribute to community safety.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Forensic Intervention Services, the Clinical Lead will be responsible for the development and oversight of various clinical projects relevant to testing new innovations in forensic clinical practice. The Clinical Lead will also be responsible for the management of quality assurance processes in relation to the development of training, policy, and processes relevant to the Forensic Intervention Services workforce and overall service delivery.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Lead the development and oversight of various clinical projects relevant to testing new innovations in forensic clinical practice.
- Requires expert clinical skills to develop and drive clinical projects and ensure the integrity of clinical research.
- Oversee and manage quality assurance processes in relation to the development of training, policy and processes relevant to the Forensic Intervention Services workforce and overall service delivery.

About you

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Minimum four years post-registration clinical experience, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development of knowledge and innovation of forensic best practice, and/or research and evaluation practices.
- Significant experience in and knowledge of assessment, individual and group treatment, and behaviour intervention treatment models with complex populations (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Transtheoretical Model of Change, Trauma Informed Care, Strengths Based Approaches).
- Adherence to and demonstration of key therapist characteristics [empathy, warmth, rewarding and directive] to facilitate the therapeutic relationship.
- Adherence to and demonstrated understanding of the Risk Needs Responsivity Model

**Qualifications**:

- Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia; or
- Member of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); or
- Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; or
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Specialist training and/or postgraduate qualifications in a clinical or forensic field, is desirable.
- Specialist training and/or postgraduate qualifications in research and/or evaluation is desirable, although not required.
- Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor status is desirable.
- A current Victorian driver's licence is required.
