The Clinical Engagement Lead is responsible for leading the clinical engagement and aligned change and communication work with hospitals and health services to drive clinical input and expertise into the design and delivery of the Victoria's Pathology HIE (HIE) project.
Leading the clinical engagement and change workstream, the role will ensure end to end clinical requirements, processes and workflows are well understood by the project and for ensuring that clinicians are connected into the project. This includes responsibility for leading effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in solution design to improve patient safety and quality outcomes.
The role will oversee the successful implementation of the project's clinical adoption, change management, and communication activities, to ensure the new HIE is successfully adopted at the point of care in complex healthcare environments. This includes managing and supporting the team leads to develop and deliver the change management and communication plans.
The role will lead, coordinate, and support clinical advisory and working groups and other formal and informal clinical engagement structures.
The role will be working collaboratively with hospital and health services and supporting partners in assessing and supporting the clinical readiness of the HIE for release as part of the on-boarding of users across Victorian health sites
Accountabilities
- Use clinical leadership skills to engage with clinical and other key stakeholders to ensure the HIE is aligned with state-wide clinical information sharing priorities and remains focussed on improving patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Lead a highly skilled team to deliver the change management and clinical adoption project workstream to ensure clinical stakeholders are actively engaged and supported to participate in the design and delivery of the Pathology Health Information Exchange.
- Coordinate and assist the project communication and change leads to develop and execute project communication material to support business readiness, change management strategy, training, and project go live activities.
- Work with the Program Manager to develop detailed project plans and a project schedule for the implementation of planned stakeholder engagement, change management and communication activities to ensure the on-time deployment of the solution into health care services both at go live and in providing support after go live until transition to the business-as-usual model is completed.
- Using expert clinical knowledge, actively manage, participate in, and contribute to design and build review activities related to HIE functionality. Includes mapping and validating current practices and identifying adaptations to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and connected clinical care.
- Forge strong connections across the department and with senior external clinical stakeholders in the public health services to facilitate a collaboration and partnership approach to the HIE program of work.
- Contribute to relevant meetings, including Health Service Engagement, Health Services Change and Adoption, Technical Design and Project Control and Steering committees and fora.
- Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring, or delivering programs of work, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
