Our team is growing Excellent opportunity for Trading Quantitative Analyst to join our Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) ANZ business to provide support for quantitative commodity trading models built by the Analytics team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Engage with the Spot Trading, Forward Trading, Portfolio and Commercial teams to develop and support quantitative tools for Australian Gas and Electricity physical and contract markets
- Support the development, maintenance and quality control for quantitative models including Load Forecasts, Asset Operation Optimisation, Contract, Option and Complex Products Valuations.
- Work together with Head of Analytics or Manager Quantitative Modelling on complex, ill-defined tasks (i.e. gather requirements, come up with design, implement and test)
- Ensure that the analytical work is complete to a high standard and on time, while regularly communicating the status of the project to Manager Quantitative Modelling
- Run analytics and data processes for internal stakeholders ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Develop and automate reports
- Proactively suggest new possibilities for analytics/projects to the Manager Quantitative Modelling

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring forward strong mathematical background. You will also have:

- 1 to 3 years relevant experience to the role
- Quantitative skills
- Technical / programming skills: SQL, Microsoft Excel, coding in R and Python
- Relevant tertiary degree e.g., Mathematics

**The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit** is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. GEMS teams manage a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, biomass, LNG and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products, and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia Pacific and in the Americas. GEMS manages the B2B supply business within ENGIE, including supply contracts and Power Purchase Agreements.

Within the GEMS Business Unit, the **Australia and New Zealand Business Platform (BP ANZ**) are managing and developing the group’s trading activities for these regions around 4 main pillars: risk management and market access, asset management, green solutions and energy supply businesses.

- Support the development and the operations of the other GBUs in all aspects related to risk representation and risk management
- Develop a commercial franchise which contributes to the overall risk management of the portfolio and generates value
