The Forest Fire Management Officer - Fuel Management is responsible for assisting in the planning, delivery, monitoring and reporting on fuel management programs for the district. The Forest Fire Management Officer will develop contracts and plan and supervise fuel management and burn preparation in the Yarra District. The position reports to the Senior Forest Fire Management Officer - Fuel Management.

This position requires a person with demonstrated experience in fire management and contractor supervision. The position has a key role to play in working with stakeholders and landholders in implementing tenure blind fuel strategies in the Yarra District.

**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**
- Demonstrated experience in fire or natural resource management with suitable knowledge of planned burn planning, preparation, and delivery processes.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning or delivery of operational programs for forest and fire management.
- Experience working with DEECA planning systems including Fireweb, FMS, eMap and ArcGIS.
- Demonstrated experience in working with communities and key stakeholders in a forest and fire management context.

**This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2024. The work location for this position is Powelltown (flexible) with hybrid work arrangements available.**
