The Role

**You will be responsible for**:
Contributing to infection prevention, control and patient safety by providing quality reusable medical devices through sterilisation and disinfection processes

Providing an effective and efficient quality customer service to service users

Appropriate use of resources, including prioritisation of workflow to meet customer demands

Supporting the Sterilising Service Coordinators or Manager in day to day operations and service delivery

Supporting the training of new and existing staff in current and new processes in sterilising services

Assisting or participating in quality initiative programs for improvement and review of sterilising services processes

**To be successful within this role you will possess**:
Certificate 3 in Sterilising Services or equivalent preferably

Basic computer skills

Sound understanding and knowledge of infection control requirements and Australian Sterilising Standard (AS/NZS4187)

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Excellent team work skills with ability to work collaboratively within a busy team with changing priorities and work demands

Excellent customer services skills with ability to build close working relationships within the CSSD team, the operating theatres and other key areas

High level of understanding of OHS, with good manual handling techniques and basic level chemical safety within the sterilising services

An understanding of and commitment to quality improvements
