**About the position**:
The Operations Manager - Aquatic Services is a critical role within our Property and Recreation Division, it ensures the effective and sustainable management and coordination of Council’s Aquatic Services.
Overseeing 8 of Councils pools, this position specifically focuses on strategic management, leadership, finance, human resources, risk management, promotion and marketing of water safety initiatives as well as providing direction to the day-to-day operations of Council’s Aquatic Services.
This position plays a key role in meeting the recreational, sporting and leisure needs of the community and providing a range and services that will sustain and improve the city’s lifestyle, biodiversity and natural assets.
**What do you need to be successful in this role?**
- High level operational experience in an aquatic and/or leisure centre environment.
- High level project management experience including significant infrastructure project scoping and delivery including management of budgets and programs.
- Extensive experience in scheduling and resource planning for forward works programs.
- Extensive change management experience including consultation and deployment of significant change initiatives.
- Continuous improvement mindset and ability to be agile and responsive to opportunities as they present.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills including negotiation and mediation with a demonstrated ability to resolve conflict.
- Ability to lead and influence teams to achieve strategic goals.
- Self-starter who is able to drive and lead projects to completion without supervision.
- High level proficiency in the managing and reporting of budgets.
- The development of staff in corporate Performance Management systems.
- Ability to guide and facilitate difficult conversations.

**Selection Criteria**
- Hold a minimum Diploma-level qualification in management or related field outline how your qualification is relevant the position.
- Detail your extensive experience in the efficient management of Aquatic operational services across multiple sites to ensure that there are effective controls over human, physical and financial resources
- Provide an example/s that demonstrates your experience in driving and leading significant change to either gain team commitment, develop a performance-based culture and/or ensure the provision of quality customer service
- Provide an example of when you have improved the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance achievement of organisational strategies and deliverables
- Provide an example of when you have reviewed and updated an internal strategy or policy to support efficient and sustainable accomplishment of organisational deliverables
- Outline your experience and level of proficiency in using financial systems to manage procurement and prepare, monitor and report on budgets
- Provide an example of when you have identified and managed multiple projects meeting strict deadlines to deliver identified outcomes
- Outline your proven track record in developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing WHS systems, policies and procedures
