**About the role**
The Principal Education Officer, Teaching Standards and Accreditation provides leadership to the directorate regarding teacher accreditation processes and the development and review of policy and procedures.

The role supports the implementation of policies and procedures to assist teachers to meet the requirements of accreditation at Proficient Teacher, Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT).

The Principal Education Officer provides advice on the implementation of policy and procedures across the directorate and works with the Lead, Teaching Standards and Accreditation on accreditation related matters across all career stages to escalate identified issues and risks.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

- Work with the Lead, Teaching Standards and Accreditation to lead and support the development and implementation of teacher accreditation policies within the Directorate.
- Oversee and lead the business-as-usual work of three policy teams including revocation of teachers for non-performance matters and placing conditions on individual teacher’s accreditation and monitoring.
- Contribute when required to the weekly audit decision panel to review and determine the outcome of Proficient Teacher audit processes.
- Monitor and advise on the implementation of teacher accreditation functions within the Directorate.
- Collaborate with relevant agencies and stakeholders, including NSW education sectors, to facilitate the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of rigorous professional standards for accreditation for teachers and educational leaders.

**About you**
To be successful, you will need:

- Appropriate education tertiary qualifications.
- Knowledge of state and national education policies and emerging trends in teacher accreditation.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading and supporting teams to deliver outcomes.
- Accredited at Proficient Teacher or above.
