**Who we are**
The Finance Division has a broad remit, covering Budget development, financial management, procurement, travel and property & protective security. The Division provides essential advice and services across the portfolio, enabling the Department to deliver its strategic objectives.

The Financial Services Branch provide a range of direct and indirect services that help deliver the departments outcomes. We directly support the department outcomes.

We directly support the department by:

- providing specialist advice on Procurement, Grants and the governments charging framework
- developing and maintaining the financial policies and frameworks
- providing oversight of the departments financial frameworks, including ensuring staff have the skills and information they need when administering public funds
- oversight of the departments travel and credit card administration
- building an Activity based costing model
- managing banking arrangements and appropriations and insurance coverage.

The position is within the Travel and Cards Team. The Travel and Cards Team are responsible for providing travel, corporate credit card and expense management system advice and support to the department.

**The Job**
Key duties of the position include:

- providing guidance and advice on the Travel process and policy
- coordination of requirements for international travel, e.g., approvals, passport, and visas
- managing flight and accommodation quotes and bookings through the travel provider
- liaising with stakeholders and clients, including officers, senior executive, service providers and government agencies
- contributing to ongoing business process improvement
- assisting the Domestic travel helpdesk as required.

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- An understanding of Government Travel or travel industry desirable however not essential.
- Experience in customer service and stakeholder relations.
- An understanding of the Whole of Australian Government Travel Arrangements.
- Experience using Expense8.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.

**Skills and capabilities**
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult and provide advice to all levels.
- Robust organisational skills, ability to manage and progress multiple tasks concurrently with attention to detail.
- Customer service focus.
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently.

**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.
