Monitor roster records to determine vacancies and unfilled shifts and liaise with relevant QAS personnel regarding shift placement.
Ensure the timely production and finalisation of shift, leave and training schedules to enable effective and efficient staffing for the day-to-day provision of service functions.
Identify roster gaps and issues from weekly rosters that will impact on operational service delivery and determine solutions. Solutions should be actioned as appropriate or escalated to management in accordance with QAS guidelines and procedures. Provide information and advice to operational staff, managers, Officers in Charge and Operations Centre personnel regarding roster practices and procedures. Assist in the analysis of roster projections to ensure QAS rosters are developed in line with the rostering provisions of the Ambulance Service Employee's Award - State 2016.
Monitor ambulance bookings and commitments for special duties and significant community events, and roster staff in accordance with prescribed policies. Assist the Manager, Workforce Planning with the preparation of required worksheets data and issuing of reports for approval and implementation. Support the administration of regional timesheet processes including collation, audit and associated quality assurance monitoring in accordance with QAS payroll guidelines.
Liaise with Queensland Shared Services regarding frontline officer leave entitlements and provide additional information and solutions as required. Monitor the equitable distribution of overtime and provide information to managers and supervisors in this regard.
Assist the Manager, Workforce Planning in keeping overtime and expenditure budgets to a minimum through the provision of timely and accurate information. Identify client needs and service inefficiencies and contribute to the development, implementation and review of systems, policies and procedures to support effective practices and service improvement initiatives within the unit.
Maintain the security and confidentiality of rostering and leave information by ensuring that access is only made available to appropriate staff. Provide mentoring and guidance to workforce planning staff and demonstrate a commitment to professional development by attending relevant training and information sessions.
Adhere to QAS policies and procedures at all times and escalate any identified issues to the relevant manager as required.
Actively demonstrate and promote the QAS's approach of zero tolerance towards violence and commit to supporting those affected by domestic and family violence in accordance with QAS policies and mechanisms. Model and influence a workplace culture of gender equality, respectful relationships, diversity, inclusion, employee safety and support.
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and QAS values.
