**_ About the role_**_:_ You will have asset management responsibilities of the full lifecycle of civil railway assets, this includes ballast, formation, earthworks, access roads and level crossings to name a few.

You will influence, mentor and coach your very own team and peer group using both technical and people leadership skills. Your team is a cohort of technical specialists that are deeply invested in making a difference.

Leading by example, your technical knowledge will be complemented by the softer skills of influencing and enabling your people to be the very best they can be, at work and personally.

A technical background considerate of technical standards, specifications, processes and procedures and quality systems is a pre-requisite and most important is a deep desire to enable your people through curious learning, challenge, support, innovation and continuous improvement thought-leadership.

**Responsibilities**:

- Your responsibility will be to understand and manage all Civil (below-sleeper) Assets in the CQCN across the full asset lifecycle,
- full accountability for Civil asset Strategy, Policy, Standards, renewals scoping and maintenance-biased engineering outcomes to manage asset reliability for purposes of ensuring asset availability.
- You and your team will leverage our partners within Civil Infrastructure Maintenance, Finance, Planning and Program Management, Access Planning and Commercial Teams

**About you**:

- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
- Registered professional engineer under the Professional Engineer's Act of Queensland (RPEQ)
- Extensive and diverse engineering experience, preferably in railway however a roads and highways background will be of great value-add.
- High level of interpersonal, written and communication, consultation, influencing and negotiation skills
- High level of skill in reviewing and recommending innovation and longer-term business and infrastructure sustainability.
