Continuing its tradition for excellence in the education of girls, Melbourne Girls Grammar is seeking a knowledgeable, innovative, and engaging **Violin & Viola **teacher to join the collaborative Music Faculty as a **Music Itinerant. **Music is a vibrant and exciting aspect of co-curricular life at Melbourne Girls Grammar - our students perform in a wide range of ensembles across age, year, and instrument levels.

This casual position will teach individual Violin and Viola lessons in the Merton Hall Programs (Senior Years), one day a week and includes conducting an intermediate string ensemble. This ensemble currently rehearses on a Friday morning, but the day may be negotiable.

Applicants should have a strong knowledge of instrumental music teaching pedagogy as well as instrumental tuition experience. The successful applicant will be a dynamic music educator with the ability to engage and inspire students in lessons and rehearsals. Experience and interest in conducting an ensemble would be highly regarded.

- Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Strings pedagogy.
- Experience teaching individual students, with the ability to teach beginner students through to advanced.
- Experience working with a variety of age groups, from Years 5 to Year 12.
- Passion for music education, and demonstrated ability to engage, inspired and motivate young people.
- Inclusive and a strengths-based approach to program development.

**Qualifications**:

- Victorian Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain), or VIT Registration; and
- Bachelor of Music or other relevant tertiary qualification (desirable but not essential).

The notebook computer and our LMS are an integral part of the teaching and learning process at our School and it is expected teaching and learning will incorporate their use along with other technologies available to you. Knowledge and implementation of a variety of online and multimedia programs to support student learning is highly desirable.
