**Position Information**:
Albion Park Public School is part of a dynamic and growing community which is situated in the Albion Park township among shops, commercial properties and private houses and our parents and carers draw from tradespeople and essential workers who are highly involved in community sport and value parent and extended family connections. Our school has a student population of approximately 520 students with 19 mainstream classes and 4 special education classes in a support unit. The school was first established in 1872 and has a long and proud history within the area.
Albion Park Public School has a vast dedication to sporting opportunities, academic endeavours and participation in music festivals. We pride ourselves in our outstanding transition programs, building strong relationships within our Community of Schools and our local pre-schools. Technology is embedded throughout teaching and learning programs, with comprehensive STEM designed programs.
We have a dedicated P&C who coordinate and plan many events for all our students while building strong and long-lasting partnerships with all teachers and staff. Our staff consult with the AECG to ensure our ongoing commitment to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island programs.
The school has approximately 12% of students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, whilst having a proud history in the community with students being valued and supported within a culture of high expectations. We provide a range of welfare programs catering for individual needs to ensure our students are known, valued and cared for.
Albion Park Public School has completed an External Validation this year and are planning for the next cycle of the SIP.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
Demonstrated experience in effectively balancing the dual roles of an exemplary classroom teacher and leadership roles in stage 1 and across the school as part of an executive team.
Demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of high-quality literacy and/or numeracy programs based on student data, expert curriculum knowledge and evidence-informed practices.
A visible and approachable leader to mentor, model and support early career and experienced teachers resulting in improved student learning outcomes.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy**Conditions**:
