- Significant experience or ability to acquire such for the provision of advice to senior officers to inform the development of risk mitigation and compliance strategies relating to prisoner administration and management, and capacity utilisation.
- Experience in developing and managing stakeholder relationships, particularly those that relate to prisoner management, lawful detention, and capacity utilisation.
- Experience in interviewing and assessing prisoners/offenders.
- Strong skills in leadership with the ability to motivate, supervise, mentor, and encourage others to adhere to legislation and practices relevant to sentence management.
- Interpersonal skills for negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, who often have competing interests, on sensitive and complex issues.
- Research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing trends associated with corrections, particularly prisoner management and lawful detention.
