Community First Step (CFS) has an exciting position for an innovative Quality and Safeguards Coordinator.

Community First Step is a growing organisation that provides children, youth and family services in the form of community development, case work, psychosocial and educational programs, disability services and children's services based in the South-West Sydney. With a history that spans over 50 years, our purpose is empowering the people of South-West Sydney to overcome disadvantage and barriers to personal, social and economic growth by delivering inclusive and innovative services and supporting capacity building.

**About this opportunity**

This role requires a proactive, driven, and innovative practitioner with previous experience supporting a quality and safeguard functions where no two days are ever the same. You are willing to adapt and be flexible to ensure your role has maximum impact within the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Quality and Safeguards Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all programs and services delivered by Community First Step meet quality standards and adhere to best practice.

You possess an excellent ability in developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements, particularly regarding NDIS compliance. You are adept in developing, implementing, and overseeing quality assurance and improvement programs.

You are well versed in quality and safety audits and inspections, are able to monitor, track and analyse data related to program outcomes, client satisfaction and safety incident so you can identify trends and areas for improvement.

You are a collaborative worker, fantastic communicator and are willing to educate and train staff to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives. Working collaboratively with staff, you are keen to develop and implement corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives.

**About you**

You will bring to this role your strong background in quality assurance and your experience working with vulnerable and marginalised populations.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as healthcare, social work, or public health and/or equivalent experience in a not for profit organization.
- Demonstrated experience in quality assurance or quality improvement in a relevant field such as healthcare, social services, or community-based organizations.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and knowledge of best practices related to safeguarding and risk management.
- Experience with NDIS and ACECQA systems, programs and policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and software as needed.

This is a permanent full-time position of 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE) with a salary of up to $95K (pro rata) plus super and NFP salary packaging.
