**Your new role**:
BAE Systems Australia, as the Hobart Class Capability Lifecycle Manager, is mobilising Capability Enhancement and Integration Services at the request of Commonwealth. The Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program will deliver a number of upgrades and updates to the Hobart-class Destroyers.
As the DCE Engineering Manager, you will provide engineering leadership to the Destroyer Capability Enhancement program team to successfully execute the contract. As an experienced Project Engineering Manager, you will work collaboratively with the Navy, CASG and key stakeholders and be responsible for all aspects of engineering program delivery under the DCE Project Management Office. In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

- Manage the technical assurance of the DCE Program of work. This includes platform implementation and deconfliction of the DCE and sustainment engineering changes occurring under the current DDG Contract
- Support the provision of advice to the DDG Principal Engineer for the incorporation aspects of all upgrade engineering changes
- Support the data integrity of configuration baselines between Logistics Information and Asset Management Systems and other Commonwealth of Australia systems required for the ‘ship in service' aspects of technical data
- Support the maintenance of safety and seaworthiness cases in order to maintain and/or re-establish Initial Operating Capability and Full Operating Capability post DCE Program
- Support project upgrades, The Platform Installer and the Platform System Designer to interface effectively and efficiently with the DDG Authorised Engineering Organisation, Authorised Engineering Organisation and Authorised Supply Organisation requirements for the DDGs

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, or demonstration of equivalent capability developed through professional experience
- Excellent negotiation skills to be able to influence internal and/or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships
- An ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of difference audiences is critical to this role
- Senior management experience within the defence industry, ideally within the maritime acquisition and sustainment domain
- Experience in the development and delivery of systems/products, where these may be complex in nature
- An ability to motivate individuals and teams across a number of business areas, to shape and implement business requirements
- The ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain (NV1)
