**About the Role**
We are seeking a Risk Business Partner to join our Risk, Compliance and Resilience (RCR) Branch. Reporting to the Risk Manager, you will lead a small team to provide strategic and operational risk advice across the Department. You will work with internal stakeholders to build risk capability, foster a positive risk culture, and ensure compliance with internal and VPS risk standards.

Key responsibilities include facilitating risk workshops, conducting horizon scanning and research, and managing risks shared with public and private sector bodies. You will also support the delivery of reports to governance groups, including the Audit, Risk and Integrity Committee and Executive leadership, and contribute to continuous improvement strategies for the department’s risk management framework.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Develop capability: Identify learning need and skills gaps, develop and implement strategies to build risk management capability of DTP staff.
- Stakeholder management: Engage with key internal and external stakeholders and lead collaborative partnerships across DTP to enable effective risk management.
- Project/service delivery: Lead special projects, undertake research and manage discreet work assignments, including the provision of regular progress reports to stakeholders and the identification and escalation of major issues with recommendations.
- Communications: Oversee and lead the preparation and presentation of high-quality analysis, complex reports, educational resources, brief submissions and procurement documentation for key programs of work.
- Continuous improvement: innovative solutions that drive improved communications, engagement and performance reporting have been explored and implemented.
- Effective People Leadership: Provide effective leadership, people management and support to their team to ensure staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering the services required.

**Key Selection Criteria** - As the Risk Business Partner, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate risk workshops, conduct horizon scanning, and manage risks involving public and private sector entities. You will also support the delivery of reports to governance groups, including the Audit, Risk and Integrity Committee, and Executive leadership, while contributing to continuous improvement strategies for the department’s risk management framework.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory**
- Experience of implementing risk management frameworks based on ISO 31000 in a complex organization.
- Experience in leading teams to ensure team members are engaged, work is prioritised and business objectives achieved to high standards.

**Desirable**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in risk management, audit or a related discipline.

**Role Specific Requirements**
- May be required to be on stand-by outside their ordinary hours of duty to perform work.
