**ABOUT THE DIVISION AND BRANCH**

The Ministerial and Parliamentary Services Division (MaPS) in the Department of Finance provides Ministers, Senators, Members and Office-holders and former Parliamentarians and their respective employees employed under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 (the MOPS Act) with a range of facilities and services to assist them in undertaking their duties.

The HR Frameworks Branch is responsible for policy development and HR advice in relation to the MOPS Act employment framework, which provides parliamentarians with staffing resources to assist with their electorate, parliamentary and Ministerial work. The Branch is also responsible to administer other key HR functions, including Payroll Services, Learning and Development and Work Health and Safety.

**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**

The HR Advice and Support team have an exciting opportunity, to fill and create a merit pool for several Assistant Director positions (ongoing and/or non-ongoing). As an Assistant Director, you will be responsible to lead a team of Human Resource (HR) professionals by providing complex and technical solutions to support decision making and experiences for Parliamentarians and authorised MOP(S) Act employees.

Key aspects of the role include:

- management advice and support for Parliamentarians and authorised MOP(S) Act employees through high quality, timely advice on issues relating to:

- recruitment
- performance
- office restructures
- functional reviews
- work health and safety
- rehabilitation and injury management
- fostering and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships with Parliamentarians and MOP(S) Act employees’; and
- other duties as required.

You will be responsible for leading and managing a team whilst providing strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders on complex matters.
