**About the role**

The Legal Officer leads the development and implementation of strategic and operational legislative frameworks and provides legal advice across all functions of the Regulation of Schooling (RoS) Directorate. The Directorate is responsible for planning and implementing NESA’s regulatory programs for non-government schools, the government schooling system, providers of courses for students from overseas, home schooling families and NESA’s internal review function in accordance with relevant legislation and government. These functions are undertaken in the context of relevant legislation and government policy and agency objectives while ensuring strategic consultation with key stakeholders.
- Law degree from an accredited law school or completion of the Legal Practitioners Admission Board’s Diploma in Law Course.
- Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
- Hold a current legal practising certificate that enables supervision of legal practice of others in NSW.
- Willingness to undertake Criminal Record Check.
