About the job
We have an exciting opening for an Electrical/Instrumentation Trainer to join the Global Asset Management team based at our Pinjarra EI Training Centre for a 12 month Fixed Term opportunity. This position is an opportunity for career development and growth in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Training, supporting our Western Australian operations. We see you playing a large part in the success of training program and engaging with our employees to develop the knowledge and skills that are required in Electrical and Instrument field.
The E&I maintenance function is complex and involves over 270 electricians in WA. This role works with maintenance teams to build the competencies and skills required for the maintenance and reliability of electrical, instrumentation and control systems equipment.
Core activities in this role include:
- In classroom delivery of training for E&I trades teams consisting of tradespersons, and trade assistants, to reach their full potential, aligned to high standards of safety and work practices at all times- In classroom delivery of training for non-Electrical teams consisting of Operators, Mechanical personnel in Electrical Safety practices- Assistance to personnel with respect to any queries in relation to training material delivered during courses including meetings and one-on-one coaching- Administering attendance, completion and booking of training courses in line with Alcoa’s Learning and Development systems to ensure that all Alcoa Electrical & Instrumentation employees complete mandatory training courses within the required timeframe- Management of online, self-learned training with respect to completion and assessment of training- Participate in meetings and provide assistance with/to the Asset Management Training team and other key Electrical Supervision stakeholders when required
About you
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- An Electrical or Electrical/Instrumentation trade background (or equivalent) and hold a current ‘A’ Grade Electrical licence- Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, or willingness to complete- Well-developed leadership and communication skills to assist with co-ordinating training- High level use of Office 365 suite- Organised and able to effectively time manage and coordinate booking and scheduling of training for Alcoa employees- Valid WA drivers’ licence- Experience or exposure in Distributed Control Systems (preferably Honeywell) and PLC systems (preferably Allen-Bradley) highly regarded- Low Voltage electrical and Instrumentation maintenance work experience highly regarded- Exposure to Learning Management Systems highly regarded (such as Tracess)- Previous experience in a training highly regarded
