About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Community Engagement Worker who will lead the planning and implementation of the community development programs, specifically the_ Disaster Preparedness Training_, that respond to identified needs of the Queensland community and promote community engagement. Additionally, the role is responsible for the recruitment and management of volunteers for the _Disaster Preparedness Training _project.

Travel across Queensland will be required

You will successfully
- Establish, manage, and contribute to programs and relational strategies that are responsive to local community desires in collaboration with the Area Leadership and TSA Mission Expressions.
- Source funding opportunities and manage partnerships to ensure viability and sustainability of the project and its programs.
- Engage in The Salvation Local Mission Delivery by attending Area Leadership teams.
- Analysis of the needs of the Community is based on data and evidence and identifies potential community development initiatives for The Salvation Army.
- Provide information and referral pathways to other TSA programs and community service providers

You will have
- A relevant tertiary qualification, at degree level with experience; or diploma level with substantial experience in community services or social work; or less formal qualifications with specialised skills sufficient to perform at this level.
- Well-developed communication skills and confidence in public speaking.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating community-based activities.
- Experience managing volunteers or employees.
- A Working with Children check is required prior to commencement.

This is a Max-term (6 months from start date), Part-Time (30hrs per week) position located in Spring Hill, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 3 Award.
