The Broadsheet Studio is the in-house content arm of Broadsheet. We work closely with commercial partners to meet marketing objectives in smart and sophisticated ways. Rather than publishing advertorial, we create unique content and off-platform experiences that exist at the point where audience interests intersect with brand values.

We’re a multifaceted and talented team of specialists that includes creatives, editors, video and audio producers, videographers, event managers, writers and photographers. Our client-service professionals are dedicated to ensuring projects are delivered on time, on brief and to an exceptionally high standard.

**The Role**

We are seeking a Deputy Branded Content Editor to join the Broadsheet Studio.

Reporting into the Studio and Strategy Director, the Deputy Branded Content is pivotal in assisting the day-to-day running of the creative team and producing branded content that is insightful, engaging and best-in-class. This role will also support the Shopping Editor by producing regular affiliate work and shopping guides that are carefully curated and engaging.

We are looking for someone with writing and editing experience who genuinely cares about the unique challenge of creating branded content (content sponsored by advertising partners) and journalistic rigour. They will extend Broadsheet’s stringent editorial practices to our partner content, ensuring our commercial work is just as thought-provoking, accurate, rigorous, and forward thinking as our editorial content.

Ideally, they will understand the Broadsheet brand - who we are, what we stand for, our tone and utility. They will leverage this understanding to think deeply about the content we are creating and how it will add value to the lives of our readers. We are looking for someone passionate about local culture who we can call upon to write copy, edit articles, commission and co-manage a pool of contributors, brainstorm, perform client feedback and provide talent suggestions across Broadsheet’s content pillars, which include food and drink, art and design, fashion, entertainment, travel and active lifestyles.

The role requires a highly-organised, flexible and reliable individual who is self-motivated, consistently meets tight and often concurrent deadlines, and has a “yes” mentality.

This is a hybrid role that requires the successful applicant to work from our Melbourne office at least 3 days a week.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Leading the production of Broadsheet branded content in partnership with the other Deputy Branded Content Editor.
- Commissioning and managing contributors.
- Editing contributor copy - ensuring copy has fulfilled the requirements of the brief and balances the needs of the client with Broadsheet’s tone and voice.
- In some cases rewriting commissioned content.
- Responding to client feedback and making amends as directed by the campaign management team.
- Assisting the creative and strategy teams in brainstorms, creative concepts and talent suggestions.
- Writing copy for both commercial and Broadsheet brand projects.
- Regular affiliate guides and linkby pieces

**What we are looking for**:

- 3+ years’ experience in professional/commercial writing and editing, with experience in digital branded content and affiliate work
- A superior understanding of the Broadsheet brand and the way in which we integrate branded content and experiences into the Broadsheet world.
- Bachelor degree in relevant field essential and postgraduate preferred
- Some experience and/or familiarity with a CMS.
- Strong understanding of SEO, online publishing tools and social media
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Solid fact-checking skills and ability to think deeply about the content we produce.
- Highly-organised and able to deliver quality work to tight (and multiple) deadlines
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills
- Rigorous fact-checking ability
- Excellent understanding of the rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Highly organised (good at prioritising, time management, multi-tasking, planning)
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work calmly and efficiently under pressure
