**About the Role**

Join our team as a **Transport Planner (School Bus)** and help shape the future of school bus services In this dynamic role, you will conduct technical analysis and evaluations to support the development of innovative school bus service plans and drive meaningful network reforms. Working closely with the Manager, School Bus Planning and Reform, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll contribute to policy development and create strategic and tactical plans to enhance the school bus network. This is your chance to make a real impact in delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable transport solutions for schools.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Provide input to support development of policies on public transport provision specifically relating to school access across Victoria.
- Identify and resolve issues arising through consultation and negotiation with stakeholders and community.
- Participate in engagement activities within DTP, and with other Government agencies and schools.
- Work with other bus planning teams to identify opportunities to reform school bus services within the context of wider public transport network changes.
- In collaboration with other bus planning teams, develop service proposals, specifications and funding bids for network changes including identification of risks and benefits, customer impacts and other scheduling requirements which respond to outcomes of community and stakeholder consultation.
- Collaborate and build strong relationships within Bus Network Planning and Reform team and across DTP as well as with external stakeholders, when developing plans and supporting the implementation of service changes.
- Provide advice, general analysis and planning support to the Manager, School Bus planning and reform.
- In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities

**Key Selection Criteria**

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Experience in a transport planning related field, or a public transport contracts and/or delivery role.

**Desirable**
- Knowledge of the Victorian School Bus transport network.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related discipline.
- Experience with HASTUS, similar planning software, or GIS software.
