Mobile Youth Officer

The City of Cockburn seeks an energetic and motivated applicant to deliver a mobile recreation service to young people. The service will be provided 3 weekday afternoons, in selected parks within Cockburn.
The position would suit a person studying Youth work, Community Development, Recreation or Leisure studies or someone with previous experience working in the Out of School Hours Care industry. An interest in art and sport is highly desired as is the ability to quickly engage and build rapport with young people aged 10 -15 years who may exhibit challenging behaviours.
The position is reasonably autonomous working alongside one other Mobile Youth Officer and external service providers. The positions report to the Youth Development Officer and Youth Services Manager.
**Applicants must have**:
- Previous exposure to supervising youth activities as well as experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in program development, implementation and evaluation for youth
- Current Drivers licence - able to tow a trailer
- Working with Children’s Check (or be eligible to receive)
- First Aid Certificate
- Be physically fit and be able to establish a rapport with young people
**Casual Hours**: 13.5 hours per week Tues/ Wed/ Thurs afternoons 2pm
- 6:30pm school terms one, two and four, with additional work over the school holidays.
