The Queensland Mental Health Commission (the Commission) is an independent statutory body established under the _Queensland Mental Health Commission Act 2013 _(the Act). The role of the Commission is to drive ongoing reform towards a more integrated, evidence-based, recovery-oriented mental health and substance misuse system in Queensland.

The Commission is committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders and minimising the impact of substance misuse in communities and is focused on increasing knowledge, understanding and information sharing through partnerships, public reports and community awareness activities. The Commission works closely with the community, government, and industry in areas including health, employment, education, housing and justice.

The Commission is supported by a Queensland Mental Health and Drug Advisory Council that provides advice and guidance on mental health and substance misuse issues and makes recommendations on how the Commission fulfils its functions.

To be successful you will have held significant positions where you have led delivery of a vision responsive to government priorities, community needs and changing expectations.

You will have a demonstrated ability to make fair and balanced administrative decisions in the public interest with a comprehensive understanding of the broad mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drugs systems and policies and have deep experience practising sound corporate governance, political impartiality, and independence.

As a leader you will have developed high performing teams and will have fostered exceptional relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. You will be experienced in providing advice to Ministerial and Senior Executive levels and will have had direct dealings with media, particularly with adverse reactions.
