Booking and Allocations Clerk

Cabrini Malvern

The Role

The Bookings and Allocations Clerk supports our wards and departments in the provision and allocation of staff in both Nursing and ward support roles. It joins the supportive team in the Clinical Operations department in Malvern.

The role also assists the Hospital Coordinators, both in and out of hours by taking bookings for patient admissions and managing transport for patient discharges.

We have a position available working at least 15.2 hours per week each. The successful applicant must be flexible with their availability and able to cover shifts between the hours of 6 am to 10 pm across 7 days. Having the ability to work increased hours to cover planned and unplanned leave will be highly regarded.

Key responsibilities include:
- Maintains confidentiality and respects sensitive information.- Interacts with patients respectfully and professionally.- Documents requests for patient admissions.- Communicates with ward shift coordinators and doctors under the instruction of the Bed Allocations Coordinator regarding admissions.- Maintains data and all documentation required under the instruction of the Clinical Operations Manager.

About you

You will be self-motivated, have a can-do positive attitude, and be adaptable to change within an evolving service.

You will have:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.- Proficiency or the ability to learn patient administration software.- Excellent communication and telephone technique.- Excellent organisational, time management and prioritising skills.- Ability to work efficiently, autonomously and respectfully within the team.

Cabrini is a healthcare provider that is captured by the COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination requirements released by the Victorian government. It is a condition of employment that all staff receive the required vaccines, unless they have a relevant medical exemption. Vaccination evidence or evidence of a medical contraindication must be provided prior to commencement.

As per Cabrini policy, a mandatory copy of a current (under 12 months) police record check must be provided prior to the commencement date.
