**Assignment Description**

Reporting to the Communications Specialist, the Internal Communications Officer will contribute to developing and delivering the internal communications plan for a large, high-profile project. Key duties will include writing and developing internal messages, digital newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, events, surveys, intranet and website content, and explaining organisational goals.

A key focus of the role will be to drive engagement with the teams, build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and help to strengthen the internal communications function, ensuring the team stay focused on the project mission and informed about the operations.This role is offered as a six-month fixed term opportunity, with the possibility of extension.

**Responsibilities**:

- Partner with key internal stakeholders to implement and monitor an internal communication plan to ensure employees are informed and engaged on all policies, procedures and activity across the project
- Create engaging, multichannel content that reinforces how we walk the talk of our Core Values and are making progress on our mission and goals
- Find creative, engaging ways to share stories and information about the project team
- Building strong stakeholder relationships throughout the business and project to identify issues, provide advice and drive alignment
- Develop and lead leadership updates to the team
- Support the leadership team with content generation
- Provide advice on the effective use of existing internal communications channels
- Develop key messages and FAQ’s to support communications
- Ensure consistency with business wide administration and governance templates

**Qualifications Required**
- Extensive experience in creating communications and engagement material for large business internal communications
- Knowledge of or experience in using publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign is desirable, but not essential
- Exceptional writing, editing and proof-reading skills
- A natural storyteller with the ability to create content that connects with its desired audience
- Proven ability to think strategically, develop plans and approaches to build the internal communications function and monitor performance
- Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills, including internal stakeholder management and collaboration
- Integrity and discretion in dealing with sensitive issues
- Willingness to work as part of a team that includes multiple functional areas
- An engaging and inspiring person with a strong work ethic

**Duration**

6 month, full time, fixed term contract with with a view to ongoing opportunities
