We have an opportunity for a Planning Officer to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The Planning Officer is part of the Fruit Fly Response Program within the Biosecurity Division of PIRSA. The primary purpose of the role is to assist the Manager, Program Solutions contribute to the goals and objectives of the Fruit Fly Emergency Response Program by providing support as part of the Response’s Program Solutions Team.

The position contributes to the development and maintenance of Response plans by supporting the Manager, Program Solutions and ensuring the planning functions which support their implementation are delivered in accordance with PIRSA policy.

The position supports the Program Solutions service delivery and is responsible for aspects of the PIRSA Emergency Management Document Set and supporting documents to meet state and national Biosecurity Emergency Management obligations. The position is also required to exercise technical expertise and judgement to deal with issues relating to emergency management documentation/planning.

**Special Conditions**
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- Long term contract until December 2025.

**Requirements**:

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team & independently.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data, plan and develop strategies to support organizational policy.
- Other requirements specific to the role include:

- Possession of a current driver’s license and a willingness to drive.
- Intrastate and interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
- The role is located at PIRSA’s Glenside Office.
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

ASO6 - $97,022 min - $102,626 max per annum, plus superannuation
