**About the role**:
We are looking for a hands-on, office-based Quality Manager to join our team based in Hobart, Tasmania. This team is tasked with delivery of projects from pre-works (including design, procurement and fabrication) through construction, commissioning and handover.

You’ll also possess - and be able to demonstrate - these specific skills:
- Analysis, development and continuous improvement of the COVA QMS
- Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of COVA’s external certifications, which currently includes ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OFSC accreditation. This includes maintenance and development of relevant policies, strategies, procedures, training, implementation, monitoring and reporting, as well as audit coordination.
- Actively assist project teams with the preparation and/or review of all project documentation (including construction procedures, ITPs and checklists) in accordance with the QMP.
- Develop and / or review Inspection and Test Plans and Checklists, recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans, process control procedures, testing and analysis procedures to ensure that the criteria meet design, specifications, and standard requirements
- Develop a schedule of Hold and Witness points for each project
- Ongoing compilation of Project MDR
- Manage the progress of construction quality and verification processes in accordance with the contract documents and the QMP.
- Evaluate and inspect suppliers/subcontractors’ quality systems, processes and products.
- Monitor and review subcontractors’ quality deliverables to ensure they fulfil their quality obligations.
- Monitor construction work lots progress and coordinate inspection of works/products with the Quality team.
- Support the project team with audits/inspections reports in accordance with the audit/inspections schedule and identify, report and investigate the cause of on/off site non-conforming work.
- Review proposed corrective and preventative actions to address non-conformance and audit findings and provide technical guidance on best for product requirements.
- Support the project team with the review of compliance records enabling close out of construction work lots
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve the project quality management system, processes and product
- Assist the Commissioning Manager with implementing the Completion and Handover strategy to achieve the Project Practical Completion target dates, where required.
- Support the Project Manager to compile data and information for the weekly/monthly quality performance reports and participate in meetings to discuss quality performance and resolve quality issues
- Prepare and consolidate quality data to assist with project handover

**Skills and experience**:
It’s likely your background will include:
- 5+ years’ experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role - preferred
- Proven experience with Inspection processes and Inspection record managements
- ISO Audit experience - Lead Auditor Certified preferably
- Experience on Design & Construction projects
- Knowledgeable in HSEQ compliance, emerging regulations, and trends
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Relevant Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management degree or other relevant qualification
- Experience with Project Management software such as Aconex is desirable
