**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking a Harassment Discrimination Adviser to join Equity, Student Services and Wellbeing, Administrative Division.
The Harassment and Discrimination Adviser works within the Equity Department on tasks related to the management of sexual harassment/assault and discrimination-related grievances, and on training programs that promote diversity and inclusion. The position involves being the first point of contact for sexual harassment/assault and discrimination-related disclosures and complaints, and provides advice, support, referral and grievance management as needed. The role works across the university with managers, other departments, and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and timely service for concerned students and staff. The position is also expected to contribute to related issues such as compliance, policy and training.

**About the area**
The Student Services and Wellbeing portfolio leads the university-wide strategy and coordination of all non-academic matters related to the student experience. The portfolio of Student Services and Wellbeing delivers a range of services across the student life cycle, as well as providing advice and leadership to the university on a broad range of student and staff matters, including social justice and public policy.
Student Services and Wellbeing consists of the following departments: Student Administration, Student Engagement, Equity, Student Services and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE). The portfolio also has strong links to and works closely with QUT’s Oodgeroo Unit and Human Resources.

**What you need to succeed**
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability in managing the conciliation, and resolution of grievances which may involve both university and external commission/tribunal procedures.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with vulnerable people and diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in facilitating training, project management, record-keeping, reporting, and research.
