**About the role**:
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced **Maintenance Officer** to join us at our Ascot Home. The **Maintenance Officer **role sits within the leadership level and is a pivotal role within the Home.
Reporting to the Home Manager, you will oversee a variety of maintenance tasks and checks across the facility ensuring a safe environment for residents and employees. Additionally, you will be responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance program as set out by our organisation.
**What You Will Do**:
- Ensure at all times that risks are appropriately managed and in line with policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes
- Maintain all documentation as required by CraigCare’s policies and procedures
- Support the Home Manager in multiple duties including regulatory compliance requirements and more
- Report all incidents immediately and follow corrective action directives
- Collaborate with the National Building Services Manager and other CraigCare Maintenance Officer’s to ensue processes are reviewed and improved where appropriate
- Maintain professionalism and care when interacting with residents and residents family
**What You Will Bring**:
- General maintenance including, but not limited to, patch & painting, minor carpentry, minor plumbing, changing of light globes, minor repairs to wheelchairs, beds and various residents equipment
- Assist in overseeing compliance relating to fire safety and accreditation
- Supervise external contractors
- Maintain the workshop, plant rooms and store rooms in a clean and tidy manner and maintain all tools & equipment in a safe manner
- Ability to operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team, promoting an engaging and inclusive Home environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and empathetic communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing
- Customer service focused and committed to achieving optimal outcomes for our residents, families and organisation
- Demonstrated organisational and time-management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Is a team player and is also able to work autonomously
- Previous experience in aged care and similar highly desirable but not essential
- Maintain strict confidentiality of residents, employees and visitors
