Key responsibilities of this role
- Provide strategic advice and practical assistance to develop, implement and evaluate communication and engagement strategies and deliverables to achieve agreed outcomes for the Path to Treaty.
- Provide communication and engagement expertise and coordinate timely information and approvals to support the Path to Treaty team, including liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication and engagement skills, including the ability to identify opportunities and to proactively generate, write and edit material to increase understanding and support for the Path to Treaty's objectives.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, including to self-manage workload and delegate tasks as required, and in a team on reactive and proactive media tasks.
- Prepare departmental correspondence, notes and policy advice for the Minister and senior departmental officers within the Department.
- Provide advice and leadership on community engagement activities involving Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous Queenslanders.
- Source and identify information, undertake research and check the accuracy of information for other communication activities such as case studies, publications and website content.
- Edit and advise on tone in written materials to align with the Path to Treaty's vision and narrative. - All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with DSDSATSIP.

This is a specified position. Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
