**About you**

Qualifications in contract or risk management, law, lead auditing or related field will be highly regarded.

**About the opportunity**
As the Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role at MTC and will be an integral member of MTC’s Legal and Governance Team. You will monitor and maintain governance processes and frameworks that manage risk, enable MTC to meet its legal and contractual obligations, and run assurance on MTC’s systems and processes to validate their adequacy and effectiveness.

**As the Compliance Officer, some of your key responsibilities will include**:

- Contract Coordination
- Conduct checks on and monitor deadlines for MTC’s performance reporting.
- Work with the business to ensure that failures are addressed and that any action plans developed are fit-for-purpose and appropriately implemented.
- Provide proper safeguards and make regular scheduled and unscheduled audits and inspections to ensure appropriate contract compliance and best practice is being achieved
- Provide contract advice on service specificiation requirements to internal business units.
- Compliance Coordination
- Monitor compliance to the requirements of ISO9001, Government and Operational procedures and processes, relevant legislation and all Company policies, procedures and standards.
- Provide proper safeguards and make regular scheduled and unscheduled audits and inspections to ensure compliance to relevant standards is achieved.
- Monitor non-compliance issues or opportunities for improvement in a timely manner, and track to completion.
- Document Control
- Ensure high standards of quality are applied to the management, storage and access to MTC documentation.
- Receive, record, distribute and file MTC documentation in accordance with MTC Policy, and maintain quality control over MTC documentation.
- Manage document version and revision control, information security, document access, retrieval, and distribution, while meeting records management compliance obligations in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Identify opportunities for improvement to documentation control processes and procedures and act on improvement requests.
- Records Management
- Evaluate the information needs of MTC and help to develop systems to support the efficient access, movement, cataloguing, updating, storage, retention and disposal of files and other records.
- Administering and registering records, ensuring appropriate processing of digital records into Grace (Electronic Records Management System).
- Undertaking audits as required and ensuring records are maintained.

**Mandatory role requirements**
The mandatory requirements for the Compliance Officer role include:

- Ability to obtain and retain a National Police clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant Government clearances.
- Ability to pass any required health assessments/clearances.
- Ability to work within a correctional facility.
- Ability to travel interstate when required to meet the needs of the business.
- Possess the right to work in Australia.
