**About the Business Unit**:
The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.

**About the Role**:
The Assistant Manager, Statutory and Financial Reporting is responsible for assisting with the preparation of the department's Annual Financial Statements and managing a range of financial accounting functions.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Planning, coordinating and assisting in managing the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, mid
- year and annual statutory and financial reporting, including the Annual Financial Report, for the department and other entities as required in accordance with statutory guidelines, current accounting standards and the financial reporting directions
- Assisting in managing month-end, quarter-end, mid-year and year-end accounting processes including accruals, leave provisioning and revenue allocation ensuring quality assurance and adherence to whole of government business rules and initiative necessary reporting and action on liability management issues
- Originating and implementing ongoing improvement to the department's accrual accounting practices and support Business Units with expertise in the use of reporting tools and financial accounting methods.

- Expert knowledge of the Australian and International Accounting Standards, the Financial Management Act 1994, Regulations and Directions
- Thorough understanding of public sector financial management, accrual accounting, balance sheet management and the associated policies, practices and procedures
- A wealth of experience working in financial management within the Victorian Government Environment.

Consideration will be given to higher levels within the band depending on the demonstration of skills and capability to perform the roles and responsibilities of the Assistant Manager position

**Qualifications/Requirements**:
An appropriate tertiary qualification with a major in Accounting and eligibility for member of CPA or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
