The Clincal Informatics Officer (Outpatients) role sits within the Informatics Department which has 4 key portfolios:

- Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Health Information Services
- Archives.

The Parkville EMR is a world-class system shared by The Women’s, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and The Royal Children’s Hospital to support high-quality, seamless healthcare in Parkville and improve health outcomes for Victorians.The Women’s EMR team is an enthusiastic and growing team responsible for the day-to-day management, operation, and improvement of the EMR. The team liaises with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders of the EMR and works collaboratively with the four Health Services and the Parkville EMR team to deliver outcomes to benefit patients and staff.

**About the role**

This exciting role, reports to the EMR Senior Clinical Informatics Analyst (Outpatients) and is primarily responsible for the design, build, testing, configuration, installation and support of Outpatient requests and as directed by the Senior Clinical Informatics Analysts and/or Director of Informatics. Cadence is the Epic enterprise scheduling product used to schedule and track patient appointments. This role is required to work closely with other members of the Informatics department to achieve this.

As the Clinical Informatics Officer (Outpatients) you will support system configuration for all EMR Cadence needs for clinicians and administrative staff. This will involve supporting and advising stakeholders of solutions, improvements and optimisations. You will ensure delivery of proposed solutions meet the needs of affected Women’s stakeholders to maximise streamlined and standardised workflows. You will be required to deliver and assist with face to face training to new and existing users as well as maintaining and preparing training materials.
You will work collaboratively with the RWH EMR Team, RWH Business Intelligence & Analytics Unit, Parkville EMR team, local health service EMR teams and key stakeholders, EMR vendor and technical teams, to ensure the EMR is maintained, operates within accepted risk levels and is optimised for the Women’s to benefit all departments.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Provide support & system configuration for approved outpatient enhancements that align with the continuous improvement of the EMR
- Deliver EMR communications and education to support the introduction of new build changes and EMR upgrades and other ongoing training needs.
- Perform analysis of workflows, enhancement requests and other technical issues associated with the EMR and work with key stakeholder to develop functional and technical solutions that reflect an in-depth understanding of the user’s requirements.

**About you**

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

- A sound understanding of EMR functionality to support clinical workflow
- Advanced skills in workflow review and design and proven ability to deliver solutions that meet the needs of end users
- Epic Application Certification and/or equivalent experience (highly desirable)
