**Your Opportunity**

The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program supports grandparents who have assumed the role of primary caregivers to their grandchildren (or other related children), often in difficult family circumstances. The program helps grandparents to develop their confidence and parenting skills, and helps them connect with schools, the service system, and other supports in the community. While the service mostly works with grandparents raising grandchildren aged 0-12, the service can include children up to 18 years of age.

**Your key responsibilities will be to**:

- Facilitate Support Groups in the Shoalhaven and other locations as directed by the Program Manager.
- Assist and encourage families to develop the necessary skills to make informed decisions
- Support the development of self-advocacy skills amongst individuals
- Work with families in a strength-based approach in order to reduce social isolation
- Provide problem management and offer support to clients working through personal crisis
- Facilitate and participate in case conferences with other relevant services.
- Participate in direct supervision with Program Manager to discuss program outcomes
- Maintain and monitor all relevant documentation in accordance to MA policy

**Requirements for Success**
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience
- Experience in Case Management and Youth Work
- Knowledge and understanding of issues facing vulnerable families and their children
- Senior First Aid or willing to obtain
- Current Driver Licence

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
