**Role Description/Criteria**

Applications are sought for the position of College Sustainability Leader commencing in January 2024.

Applicants with the following methods will be at an advantage:

- English
- Mathematics
- Italian
- Science
- Textiles ( from Term 4 2024)
- Food Technology
- Economics with Business Management/Legal Studies/Accounting
- Global Politics
- Digital Technologies (must be able to teach Applied Computing/Software Development)

**OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE**

The role of the College Sustainability Leader is to promote, develop and implement a whole College approach to environmental sustainability that aligns with Padua College’s Educational Strategic Plan. She/He will work with students, staff, and the community to develop awareness of sustainability practices, to support sustainability initiatives and to develop sustainability projects, thus improving the sustainability culture of the college. Saint Anthony, our patron saint ‘... shows us just how inseparable is the bond between concern for nature, justice for the poor, commitment to society and interior peace’ (Pope Francis, Laudato Si, 2015, #10).

The College Sustainability Leader makes recommendations to:
? the Vice Principal - Learning and Teaching regarding the promotion and implementation of sustainability into the curriculum;
? and the College Improvement Team regarding Padua’s long term environmental impact and carbon footprint.

The College Sustainability Leader ensures that the College is a ‘Sustainable School’ and that all in the Padua community know they can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation.

The College Sustainability Leader reports to the Director of Business and works with other members of the Padua Leadership Team regarding sustainability matters relating to their respective portfolios.

**MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**

The responsibilities of the College Sustainability Leader include but are not limited to:
i. promoting, developing, and implementing a whole College approach to environmental sustainability;
ii. working with students, staff, and the community to develop an awareness of sustainability practices, support sustainability initiatives and develop and implement sustainability projects;
iii. collaborating with teaching staff to assist in implementing the educational requirements of sustainability as a cross-curriculum priority; and

iv. performing other duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal or the College Improvement Team.
