**The role**

ECH Social Programs promote independence by providing opportunities for social participation and meaningful pursuits to older people who are socially isolated and/or living with Dementia.

We currently have a casual opportunity based within our Smithfield & Walkerville day program.

**What you’ll be doing**

The person filling this role will support clients by:

- Assisting participants to engage in meaningful activities, reflecting their individual preferences
- Contribution to the planning and implementation of weekly social program activities designed to maintain dignity, skills and health
- Providing personal care assistance where needs are identified whilst also enabling clients independence and choice.
- Provision of meals for participants including preparation, serving and clean up.
- Electronically document and report on participant attendance and experiences along with Identifying client changes in care and escalate to Senior Activity Assistant

**We’re looking for someone who has**:

- **A demonstrated genuine** commitment to helping older ageing people retain their independence so they can remain at home in the community
- **An understanding** of the physical/social/emotional/cultural needs of older people, including those living with Dementia
- Exemplary **communication skills**:

- **Commitment **to the safety and well-being of clients and staff

But also, someone who:

- Is flexible and adaptable
- Loves diversity
- Will contribute their ideas and hard work to make ECH better every day.

**You will need**
- Exemplary communication skills
- A current driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- COVID-19 vaccination (doses 1 & 2)

**It’d also be helpful if you had**:

- A **CURRENT **Police Check
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Aged Care, Leisure and Health, Disability or equivalent
- Current First Aid Certificate incl CPR

ECH is a not-for-profit organisation in the Health Care Sector. This means that you can salary package up to $18,549 per annum to reduce your tax. We also offer a range of perks through our Employee Benefits Program (eg. discounted gym memberships).
