Williamson's FoodWorks is a locally owned Supermarket based in Gisborne. We are a proud supporter of our local community and have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our company as a Meat Manager and Buyer to support our store in Gisborne and our Wholesale operations. For the right person, this position could lead to managing multiple Meat Departments at various stores within the Williamson’s FoodWorks Group.

This hands-on role will be to oversee the operation of our Meat Department. Reporting to the Store Manager(s) and Store Owner, you will be responsible for maximising meat sales, through effective range planning and product development by establishing strong supplier networks.

The duties and responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to:

- Negotiate pricing with suppliers to meet sales targets and maximise gross profit
- Lead, coach, train, motivate and develop all members of the meat department
- Set goals, budgets and manage time to achieve results within deadlines
- Help drive sales and build the stores clientele. Including growth in Wholesale operations.
- Presentation, merchandising and stock management
- Control the rotation of stock in all areas of the Meat Department
- Ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- Building the business, minimising loss and maintain accurate pricing
- Rostering of sta and maintain wage percentage at budgeted level
- Maintaining vigilant control on stock quality with regards to shrinkage
- Prior experience as a meat buyer
- Experienced Trade Qualified Butcher who is excellent in processing traditional cuts of meat
- Prior experience in all areas of sta management, inclusive of coaching, training, performance management and rostering
- Experience working within a high volume business
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining all key deliverables
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external customers
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and problem solving ability
- Basic to Intermediate computer skills
- Be physically capable of undertaking substantial lifting and being on your feet for long periods of times
- Applicants will need to be willing and able to work Full Time flexible hours across a 38 hour working week, with a combination of early starts and weekend work.

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Performance bonus
