Williamson's Foodworks has an exciting opportunity available for self-motivated individuals to join our- team as a Deli 2IC.This is a hands-on role to help maintain the efficiency of our Deli Department at our Gisborne Store.-
- supporting the Deli Manager and working closely with other team members to fulfil a variety of tasks- as directed.The focus of this role is in store presentation, stock control, administration, teamwork and most- importantly customer service. You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Assist with day-to-day management of staff within the Deli team
- Assist with the ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of produce stock
- Working with Deli suppliers to quickly act on goods received which fail to meet department
- quality standards- Prepare, package and display for sale
- Preparing special orders as required.
- Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats, cheeses and other deli products.
- Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions
- are showcased- Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and
- floors, removing rubbish, and confirming that equipment is in working order.- Assist as required with the ordering, receiving, unloading, storage and rotation of stock across the
- department- Assist the Deli Manager by maintaining vigilant control on stock quality with regards to shrinkage
- Constantly review quality of stock to ensure compliance with food safety process
- Assist with service of all Deli area products when required
- Review and ensure correct pricing & ticketing is displayed throughout the department
- General cleaning duties in the Deli Department general work area and cool room
- Fully accountable for the department across all shifts worked in the absence of Deli Manager
- Practice companies Policies and Procedures and ensure all safety standards are adhered to
- including Food Safety processes-
- Able to work across 7 days Monday to Sunday during store operating hours
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently liaise with staff and customers
- Attention to detail and problem solving ability
- Be a team player who is flexible and adaptable to change
- Excellent organisational & time management skills
- Great attention to detail and superior customer service skills
- Be physically capable of undertaking substantial lifting and being on your feet for long periods of
- time- Positive attitude with lots of initiative
- Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently liaise with staff and customers
- Basic computing skills
- Previous Deli &/or Supermarket experience will be deemed beneficial but not essential
- Previous experience in staff management will be deemed beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge of Deli items will be considered beneficial
