**About the Agency**

The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) is the lead agency for the Government's policy on sport and active recreation. ORSR is responsible for State Government policy and legislation as it relates to the sector, its key programs, sport and recreation infrastructure and funding programs. The ORSR supports sport and recreation organisations, Councils and the community through the development of policy, programs and resources, the provision of funding, recreation and sport planning, infrastructure development, elite sport pathways and programs, and the promotion of physical activity.

**About the Division - South Australian Sports Institute**

The South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) is the High Performance Sports hub in South Australia. Its purpose is empowering people to achieve their sporting dreams and inspiring South Australians. SASI does this by:

- Providing the highest quality daily training environment, including embracing leading-edge technologies to optimise the performance of its people, programs, projects and partners.
- Optimsing national representation and medal success on the world stage for South Australian-based athletes and teams.
- Pursuing excellence in practice, services and culture.
- Developing sustainable talent pathways for athletes and coaches.
- Enhancing the community's engagement with SASI.

**Role Details**

The Para-Sport Hub Lead will establish and lead a team including up to five coaches and performance support professionals with the collective goal of recruiting and developing talented South Australian para-sport athletes. The outcome will be an increase in the number of categorised para-athletes in South Australia to enable greater representation and medal success at the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games. A key priority of the role is leadership and management of the team to enable effective: Talent identification and talent transfer initiatives, sport selection for eligible athletes, para-sport pathway identification in South Australia, para-sport classification, athlete development, performance support delivery, health, wellbeing and risk mitigation within the sport environment, and inclusion of para-sports and para-athletes within SASI and partner organisations. The role involves extensive external stakeholder relationships with Paralympics Australia, National and State Sporting Organisations and the Australian Institute of Sport. As a new role in the national sport system, there will be a high degree of sharing, collaborating and learning, in line with the National 2032 Win Well High Performance Sport Strategy.

**Special Conditions**
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
- Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.
- This role requires a working with children check.

**Essential Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualification in sports management, sports science or other relevant field.
- Experience and knowledge of high performance para-sport.
