**about the role**

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a **Communications Advisor** to join the Corporate Affairs team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this permanent role will be based in Chevron’s new building at One The Esplanade.

The role will provide general communications support and consultation at the Australian business unit level and is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies, programs, and plans.

Specifically, the role’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Developing communications plans and products to influence external stakeholders and enhance the reputation of the company.
- Providing advice to the business on internal and external communications, including strategies to engage target audiences, communications trends, use of communications tools and channels, and development of messaging.
- Supporting engagement with media stakeholders, including fostering positive relationships, preparing responses to media enquiries, and planning and executing proactive media opportunities.
- Providing coaching to senior leaders on media engagement and external presentation skills.
- Preparing/reviewing external communications including speeches, presentations, research papers and award submissions, including on behalf of senior company leaders.
- Developing content for company website, social media channels and publications.

- Experience managing complex issues and reputational risk for large organisations
- Strong ability to build relationships (within the company and externally) and effectively engage and influence stakeholders regardless of background
- Understanding of issues and stakeholders relevant to the energy sector
- Experience supporting communications and providing coaching for executive leaders
- Superior written and oral communication skills
