**About the role**

We’re looking for a highly accomplished **Principal Advisor - Communications **to work within the Iron Ore External Affairs & Communications (EA&C) team.

Leading a small team, you’ll have deep communications experience and highly developed strategic communications and people leadership skills.

Reporting to the Chief Advisor, External Affairs & Communications, you will:

- Provide high-level strategic communications advice to senior leaders to help achieve key business outcomes
- Lead and mentor team members, overseeing their development, workloads and priorities
- Prepare or oversee the development of Communications Plans related to business priorities and contentious issues
- Evaluate communications impact and reach against business priorities and present on findings where necessary
- Oversee the development and implementation of creative campaigns
- Develop and approve communications materials, including stories, videos, social media posts, speeches, and collateral
- Contribute to the management of crisis communications as a senior member of business resilience teams

This recruitment pool may be used for other roles within the EA&C team.

- A communications expert, with highly developed strategic communications skills and stakeholder management experience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with internal stakeholders and build effective and strong partnerships
- Proven experience working in communications teams that collaborate with other Corporate Affairs disciplines, including media relations, social media and branding
- Highly developed writing skills and a strong understanding of how to adapt content for various channels and audiences
- Strong experience evaluating communications metrics to improve future activities
- Highly developed time management and prioritisation skills
- A track record of leading people/teams and developing talent
- Experience in developing positive, respectful working relationships in a corporate setting
- A degree in Bachelor of Communications or related discipline
