The Strategic Procurement team within the Finance and Business Services Centre is instrumental in developing short and long term procurement strategies to maximise the value of goods and/or services purchased on behalf of the University. The team takes a multi-faceted approach in achieving this objective, primarily through:
Category planning that are aligned to users' objectives;
Continuous improvement and evaluation of the University's sourcing and purchasing activities; and

Effective contract and supplier relationship management to maximise the operational and financial performance of suppliers.

Reporting to the Manager Strategic Sourcing and Contracts, this position will proactively work with Schools and Centres on four broad key areas:
Analysing past, current and future demand for goods and services;
Delivering go to market strategies based on market analysis and business requirements;
Implementing and monitoring the deployment of the agreed strategies; and Contract management, tender management and compliance to policies.

**Qualifications**: Tertiary qualifications in relevant disciplines such as Business or Management. MCIPS Procurement qualification, or Postgraduate qualifications is an advantage.

**Experience**: Extensive experience in sourcing and procurement, with at least two years spent in a senior category management role. Demonstrated experience in:
Category Management

Spend / Cost / Supplier Management

Business Performance Management

Specific Industry/Market/Vendor Knowledge

Data Analysis

Negotiation

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $111,152 to $125,191 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
